Project Description

The program is to design and build new electrical substation to supply power to the new JFK Terminals for the overall JFK Redevelopment Project. The project includes building a one-story facility with bulkhead level to house new Switchgear and Transformers, installing new 27kV cable from existing Con Edison man holes to the new Central Substation #2, and installing new 15kV duct banks and manholes to service new JFK Terminals.

As a Joint Venture Partner with Yonkers Contracting Five Star Electric is responsible for the implementation and execution of building a new 40MVA central substation at JFK Airport to supply power to New Terminal One, New Terminal six and New Transportation Center with capacity for future expansion. Additionally, Five Star electric is responsible for procuring and installing the new Medium Voltage Switchgear, Transformers, Cabling, SCADA systems, Mimis Systems, Fire Alarm, Security, BMS, and lighting.
