Replacement of seven 4250 KVA rectifier transformers. Five Star was responsible for the design, decommission and replacement of seven oil-filled rectifier transformers with seven new 4500kVA dry-type rectifier transformers, while keeping Long Island Rail Road’s third traction rail power active to not interrupt train movement. The scope also included overseeing the testing of transformer oil for PCBs, de-energizing, draining (and disposal) of oil and transformer, altering existing power, rectifier control, and SCADA conduit to match new transformer entry points.
