A number of remediation and upgrade projects were addressed by the MTA, including its datacenter facilities and strategy for consolidation, as well as the required infrastructure hardening of the 2 Broadway facility after Hurricane Sandy. The ninth floor datacenter electrical power upgrade involved significant investment in the existing electrical power distribution, configuration and the diversity of the electrical power serving the datacenter. Also included was the correction of a Single Point of Failure on the existing normal electrical power serving all of the datacenter computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units. Five Star Electric was responsible for the installation of a new normal and discrete electrical power feed between one of the existing remaining switchboards and Automatic Transfer Switch BM (ATS-BM).
