Tunnels E & F were directly impacted by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The scope of this work included repairs to the third rail, track slab, track fasteners and replacement of various electrical systems. Five Star Electric’s scope of work included replacing traction power cables, signal cables, radio and communication cables and tunnel lighting.
